Menopause and Perimenopause Support
Naturopath North Gosford and Telehealth Australia Wide
Perimenopause and menopause are natural stages of life, but for many women the symptoms can feel anything but normal.
Hot flushes, night sweats, poor sleep, anxiety, weight gain, brain fog and changing moods can affect your confidence, relationships and quality of life. You may have been told it’s “just part of getting older,” yet you know your body doesn’t feel like it used to.
At Naturally with Leah, I provide personalised, evidence-informed naturopathic care to help support women through every stage of the menopause transition. Rather than focusing on one symptom, we’ll explore your overall health, hormones, nutrition, sleep, stress and lifestyle to create a plan that’s practical and tailored to you.
Whether you’re considering hormone therapy, already using it, or prefer a non-hormonal approach, my recommendations are designed to complement your medical care and support your wellbeing.
No judgement. Realistic goals. Personalised care.

Is This You?
You may benefit from menopause support if you are experiencing:
- Hot flushes or night sweats
- Irregular or changing menstrual cycles
- Difficulty sleeping
- Mood changes, anxiety or irritability
- Brain fog or forgetfulness
- Weight gain, particularly around the abdomen
- Fatigue or reduced energy
- Low libido
- Vaginal dryness or recurrent urinary discomfort
- Joint aches or muscle pain
- Palpitations
- Dry skin, hair thinning or brittle nails
Many women experience only a few symptoms, while others notice changes affecting almost every aspect of their daily life. You don’t have to simply “put up with it.”
Understanding Menopause and perimenopause
Perimenopause is the transition leading up to menopause, when hormone levels begin to fluctuate. This stage may last several years before periods stop completely.
Menopause is confirmed after 12 consecutive months without a menstrual period.
During this transition, changes in oestrogen, progesterone and other hormones can affect many systems throughout the body—not just your reproductive health.
These hormonal changes may influence:
- Sleep quality
- Mood and emotional wellbeing
- Energy production
- Bone health
- Heart health
- Brain function
- Muscle mass
- Weight regulation
- Gut health
- Immune function
Every woman’s experience is unique, which is why personalised care is so important.
My Approach to Menopause Care
There is no single treatment that suits every woman.
Your consultation is designed to understand your symptoms, health history, medications, pathology, lifestyle and personal goals before developing a treatment plan tailored specifically for you.
Your personalised plan may include:
Nutrition
Evidence-informed dietary advice to support healthy ageing, blood sugar regulation, bone health and overall wellbeing.
Lifestyle Strategies
Practical approaches to improve sleep, manage stress, increase energy and support long-term health.
Practitioner-Only Supplements
Where appropriate, supplements may be recommended to support nutritional status and help manage specific symptoms.
Herbal Medicine
When clinically appropriate, herbal medicines may be considered as part of an individualised treatment plan. Recommendations are based on your health history, medications and current evidence.
Collaborative Care
I work alongside your GP and specialists. If you’re using Menopausal Hormone Therapy (MHT) or considering it, naturopathic care can complement your existing treatment plan.

Nutrition & Lifestyle Support
Social media is full of advice telling women to avoid carbohydrates, fast, take dozens of supplements or follow restrictive diets during menopause.
The reality is that there is no one-size-fits-all menopause diet.
My focus is helping you build sustainable habits that support your health now and into the future.
This may include:
- Adequate protein intake to support muscle mass
- Fibre-rich foods for gut and heart health
- Calcium-rich foods for bone health
- Healthy fats including omega-3s

Small, consistent changes often lead to the greatest long-term improvements.

Frequently asked questions about menopause and perimenopause
Can a Naturopath help with menopause symptoms ?
Naturopathic care cannot stop menopause, but it may help support overall health and assist with managing symptoms through nutrition, lifestyle changes and, where appropriate, herbal and nutritional supplements alongside your medical care.
Do I need to take Hormone replacement medication?
Some women benefit from Menopausal Hormone Therapy (MHT), while others choose not to use it or are unable to. This is an individual decision that should be discussed with your GP or specialist. Naturopathic care can complement either approach.
Do I need testing before my appointment ?
Not necessarily. If you have recent blood test results or specialist reports, bring them with you. If further testing may be beneficial, we’ll discuss this during your consultation.
How many appointments will I need?
This varies depending on your health goals, symptoms and condition. Many people begin with an initial consultation followed by review appointments every 4–8 weeks while implementing their treatment plan.
Can diet affect menopause symptoms?
A balanced diet that supports muscle, bone, heart and metabolic health may improve overall wellbeing during menopause. Dietary recommendations should be individualised rather than based on online trends.
