Acid Reflux & Heartburn

Enjoy your meals without dreading what comes afterwards.

The burning after dinner. That sour taste coming back up. Getting comfortable in bed, only to have reflux start again.

When this happens regularly, it can leave you wondering what to eat and whether you’ll have to give up everything you enjoy.

At Naturally with Leah, we take time to look at your digestion and find practical changes that suit you.

Do I have to give up coffee?

Let’s talk about it before you throw out the coffee machine!

Coffee can trigger reflux for some people, but it isn’t the only thing to consider. Your food choices, meal timing and evening routine may all be worth exploring.

I don’t believe in handing everyone the same list of foods to avoid. I want to understand what happens for you.

Looking at your digestion

Acid reflux happens when stomach contents flow back into the tube connecting your mouth and stomach. It can cause heartburn or leave a sour taste in your mouth.

During your consultation, I’ll ask when it happens, how often, what you’ve already tried and what else is going on with your digestion.

Are you rushing through lunch? Eating dinner just before bed? Have you restricted so many foods that you’re running out of meal ideas?

Those details help us choose a sensible starting point.

How I work with you

As a naturopath and nutritionist, I bring together practical nutrition advice and an individual approach to your health.

Your plan may include:

  • Exploring food and symptom patterns.

  • Adjusting meal timing and identifying foods that aggravate your symptoms.

  • Keeping meals nourishing and enjoyable.

  • Considering herbal medicine or nutritional supplements where appropriate.

  • Reviewing your progress and adjusting the plan with you.

Herbs and supplements are selected with your health history and medications in mind. They aren’t something you automatically need.

No judgement. No pressure to change everything at once. Just realistic steps we can work on together.

Start with a conversation

You don’t need to arrive with all the answers. Bring your questions, tell me what’s happening, and we’ll work through it together.

Consultations are available at my North Gosford clinic on the Central Coast, with telehealth Australia-wide.
